What's not to love about this tube? Metal lens and out flow port. connections already made. And the best part is it is much more powerful that the stock tube. I didn't even have to adjust mirrors. Where I was engraving slate at 11% at 8mA I get the same results from 7% at 5ma. I can't wait to try it on acrylic once I get the exhaust system setup to outside.

Boy is this a thick tube! After getting the tube it was nicely packed in a brown box and inside the brown box there was a wooden crate and inside the wood crate we have another box with tons of packaging so I give cloudray an A+ on packing.
The laser is big at exactly 80MM. I upgraded my 60 watt red and black laser and of course had to build an extension box for the laser to fit. The one thing I did NOT account for were the mounting bracket so the mounting brackets I purchased sat to high and was about 1.25 inches taller than mirror 1. I had to 3D print my own brackets so the laser can hit mirror 1.
The tube is very high quality, I did find the minimum firing was 15MA for my laser vs the 5MA the instructions say. Make sure you get an AMP meter for the laser as the max MA this tube can take is 25MA. My old 60 watt tube I could drive that thing to 80% power and just hit 25MA. This tube I will hit 25MA at 45% power.
Get yourself a good power supply, chances are you going to need to upgrade to a new one if you are getting a bigger tube. I got a cloudray 150 watt power supply with the digital read out and external LCD screen I also have an analog MA reader but the digital is spot on, this way you can fine tune your laser and not worry about overdriving the tube.
Last and not least, get yourself some high voltage connectors. These will insure a secured connection I have seen so many times people don’t properly secure the connection and you will have high voltage electricity arching which can be lethal.
Overall I am very happy with this tube and highly recommend it. It beats the price of the recci tubes for sure.

For about $20 more than the basic tube, I decided to go with this one over the ten-high tube which is very similar to what the machine came with. I chose the CloudRay tube because firstly, it has a metal head. After about 3 years of light use on my old tube, the head had cracked right at the end and the laser lost most of its power. Secondly, I purchased some mirror mounts from them a while back and found them to be excellent quality.
So far, I think I made the right choice. When I first hooked up the tube I couldn't get it to fire. I was very particular about cable routing,used marine heat shrink connectors properly crimped, etc. I also replaced all of my cooling lines with slightly larger 7mm ID silicone for a little more flow. I knew had connected everything properly so I was pretty baffled. Thankfully I found that there is a test fire button directly on the power supply and pressing it fired the tube. Turns out my water pump had fallen over in the bucket and pinched the tube. Water was flowing and I could see it going through the tube, but it was just too slow to activate the flow switch. Well at least I know that works!
After a rough alignment the tube produced some really great results-- better than ever actually. On the previous tube, to cut 1/8" birch ply, I would run the machine at 25% power and 8mm/s. With the new CloudRay tube, I'm getting really clean cuts at 20% power and 12mm/s. While installing the tube, I also went ahead and added an ammeter to the machine. 20% power equates to exactly 9mw on this tube. Well within specs. I'm curious to see what I can do if I push it up to maybe 12-15mw.
Keep in mind that my machine is pretty tuned if your numbers aren't in that ballpark. I've added full drag-chain air assist, better gold mirrors and holders, adjustable depth cutting head with a much bigger and higher quality focus lens, full honeycomb bed, corner bracket that aligns the workpiece to home, etc etc etc.
If like me you're curious about the red connector that comes with the tube, the whole connector actually just slides off. It is just a large two piece connector meant to cover the splice in the high voltage wire. I used a red marine heat shrink butt connector to splice the high voltage wire which perfectly slid down into the connector CloudRay provided and is very very safe and secure that way.
Pick this one. Definitely seems like a nice upgrade for ~$20 more. If it fails early or starts misbehaving I'll be back to update my review, but for now I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

I installed it and everything OK, it's got a lot of power I 'd gotten used to my spent tube that didn't do anything right, this one has a lot of power and I also put in one of the seller's lenses that gives the most power to lightning, cut 3mm of plywood to 26% of the tube in two passes at Not in the best times of the previous tube. Buy with confidence.
