The LCD screen is great. Voltage, control level and current are all right there, no dodgy sh!t with running the tube ground through a crappy panel meter. Safer if nothing else. It does generate some interference in the system, so I'm not sure how "clean" the isolation is between the HV and logic level, as it occasionally reboots my motion controller, but it's not often enough to cause me any actual problems. I can't say it's low power performance is very good - Below about 16% power on a 90w tube, the output drops off abruptly. My tube has some hours on it, so maybe the pressure is going up, but who knows. It's no RF excited system for sure (those kick ass) but for bringing this hunk of junk home brew cutter of ours back to life it was just the ticket.

The included screen is an excellent feature that makes setting current values a snap. But really it isn't needed as the the PSU and screen have numbered pins on the Phoenix connectors numbered 1 - 8 The screen is already pre-wired with pins 4-8 if I remember correctly. Either way, just wire those in order to the numbered connector port on the PSU and you're good to go. On the controller connector port you will need to make a jumper wire to run from the WP (water protection) to the 5V port+ if you want to disable the safety circuit so you can just use the controllers protection port instead. Once the jumper is in place this will arm the PSU and disable the WP circuit so you can test run the PSU if you want to. Anyhow, this is a great PSU and delivers stable power with reliable screen readouts. The PSU comes with a POT adjustment on the top in a small hole for manual current adjustment, so it is safe to use with much smaller tubes that it's rated for. If you're on the fence about this unit, don't hesitate! Spend the extra money, you won't regret it! PS the auto discharge feature is a fantastic function. No chance of getting hit with high voltage stored in the internal caps once you turn the unit off.
