PPX GP3 Plastic Ring Number Marking Test with UV-5 UV Laser

This test evaluated six-digit identification marking on a PPX GP3 plastic ring using a UV-5 UV laser and LightBurn. The objective was to create a dark, readable mark while limiting visible heat damage to the plastic.


1. Test Goal

The test aimed to verify whether the UV-5 could produce a clear six-digit identifier on the curved PPX GP3 plastic surface without visibly scorching or melting the material.

 

2. Test Requirement

The requested artwork was a six-digit number using 24 pt Helvetica Bold. The mark could be positioned wherever the available area allowed.

The target was to make the characters as close to black as practical without burning or melting the plastic. Marking multiple items in one operation was also preferred when the working area permitted.

5. Test Result

The six-digit number was completed in 6 seconds. The supplied result image shows a readable medium-gray mark on the white plastic ring.

No obvious scorching or melted edges are visible in the supplied image. The source record confirms that the customer was satisfied with the result.

The UV-5 demonstrated fast filled-text marking on PPX GP3 plastic. The six-digit identifier remained readable, with visible gray contrast and no obvious thermal damage in the final test image.
